am i a success???

The other day a friend and I,
Tried to define what success meant to us.
Does it mean having enough to buy,
Whatever you want without a fuss?

Or does it mean being the best,
And being universally acknowledged as number one.
Or does it mean differing from the rest,
And doing things that no one's done.

Would I be considered successful,
If I came second in a test,
But I had given it my full,
I had done my very best.

How/when does one know he is a success,
And does success really matter to me,
If all I want in life (well more or less),
Is just to be happy.

lonely

Wish I knew someone here,
Someone I'd meet for a movie or a beer.
Someone with whom you could just talk,
Someone to hold hands and just walk.

Four million or more in this city,
Yet every night I feel so lonely.
Lots of people, lots of food, lots of culture,
Yet nothing and no one I hold dear.

Days, weeks months have gone by,
Cold and alone, in my bed I lie.
Wondering how I'll spend the rest of my life,
Will I be alone or will I have a wife

But what scares me most is that, when I die,
No one will come to say good bye.
No one will look and no one will care,
How this old man died on his rocking chair.

three movies i've liked so far

Of all the movies I've seen this year,
Here are three I hold most dear.

The Korean movie "200 Pound Beauty"
Was a movie that really tickled me,
A light hearted romantic comedy,
Perfect for that special someone and you to see. :)

Then there was "300",
About King Leonidas & the Spartans that he led,
With battle scenes that looked out of a painting,
This was one movie worth seeing.

Finally there is "Priceless (Hors de Prix)",
That wonderfully romantic & funny French movie.
Starring the oh, so beautiful Audrey Tautou in a new look,
If nothing else she will definitely get you hooked.

Birthday wishes, birthday gifts and of course the birthday surprise,
Nothing could be better or as nice.
Friends writing in with their best wishes,
Going out for lunch and hogging on my favorite dishes.

It's nice to know that people still remember,
Even though they are everywhere and I'm still here.

It’s the first time since I've begun to earn,

The first time since I have my own money to burn.

Don’t know why but I'm quite excited about it

6 resolutions + 1 wishful thinking = 07

New resolutions for this New Year,

I've decided to jot them down here.

What should I set out to achieve,

Let’s start out with my pet peeve.

I must tone up and lose some weight,

Must become healthy before it’s too late.

Learning a new language sounds like fun.

Though I know that’s easier said than done.

Then there is my wanderlust,

Visit a new country I must.

I must begin saving for a rainy day,

Must prepare for what the future holds at bay

Must get down to reading some more,

Autobiographies, fiction and even folklore.

Then of course there is that skill I wish I had everyday,

A musical instrument I must learn to play,

Think I'm going to end with some wishful thinking,

Enough of what I must and time for a little dreaming

What would be really cool would be a raise

Maybe a few improvements and lots of praise.

This surely will be the icing on the cake,

If they do give me more than I currently make.

season beginning

Slow breathing and deep sighs,

She bit her lower lip to stifle those cries,

Her soft curls bounced on her forehead,

No words spoken yet so much was said.

That naughty smile, her seductive touch,

Seemed to say "I want it so much",

My defenses’ down she took the lead

As we set out to do the deed.

I'd never seen her with such passionate drive,

All her senses coming alive

One, wouldn't do she needed more,

As she came close to whisper “You never know what else is in store"

Flush with excitement, it showed on her face,

The twinkle in her eyes showed this was her favorite place.

And where you ask was this exclusive locale,

It was the season beginning "Nine West and Ferragammo" Shoe sale.
