6 resolutions + 1 wishful thinking = 07

New resolutions for this New Year,

I've decided to jot them down here.

What should I set out to achieve,

Let’s start out with my pet peeve.

I must tone up and lose some weight,

Must become healthy before it’s too late.

Learning a new language sounds like fun.

Though I know that’s easier said than done.

Then there is my wanderlust,

Visit a new country I must.

I must begin saving for a rainy day,

Must prepare for what the future holds at bay

Must get down to reading some more,

Autobiographies, fiction and even folklore.

Then of course there is that skill I wish I had everyday,

A musical instrument I must learn to play,

Think I'm going to end with some wishful thinking,

Enough of what I must and time for a little dreaming

What would be really cool would be a raise

Maybe a few improvements and lots of praise.

This surely will be the icing on the cake,

If they do give me more than I currently make.
